DSU Student Success Peer Coach

Job Description & Application Requirements

The primary role of a Student Success Peer Coach is to be a mentor, role model, and direct contact for incoming students. This includes positive interactions with students and their families from the admissions stage to the sophomore transition, including the student’s first academic year. The minimum expectations and responsibilities for SSPC’s include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong communication, multitasking, and problem solving skills
  • Strong social media presence that emulates the values and goals of the Student Success Center
    and Dixie State University
  • Attend and actively participate in the prescribed SSC training program
  • Follow a designated communication plan to contact students before, during, and after orientation, and through fall semester
  • Plan and lead activities designed to promote student success
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good academic standing with a preferred cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Enrolled in at least 6 semester hours in spring and fall semesters
  • Declared in a major
  • Available to attend all required training, including a weekend leadership summit.
  • Expected work hours will be approximately 10-15 hours per week during spring semester 2018 with a projected starting date of (TBD), 10-15 hours per week during summer semester 2018, and 10-15 hours per week during fall semester 2018.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $10.00 per hour, 10-15 hours per week
